Former Secretary to the Osun State Government, Moshood Adeoti, is set to formally unveil the political platform he will align with ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State next week, in a move insiders say could reshape the political landscape.
Sources close to the former governorship candidate disclosed that consultations with political stakeholders and loyalists have reached an advanced stage, with the public declaration imminent.
Adeoti, a veteran of Osun politics and a grassroots mobiliser, has remained largely silent in recent months, sparking speculation across party lines about his next move.
Political associates hinted that the declaration would follow a series of meetings with supporters, community leaders, and party operatives across the state’s local government areas.
According to one ally, Adeoti’s decision is informed by “strategic considerations and the need to build a broad coalition capable of influencing the 2026 governorship race.”
“He has been consulting widely. The formal announcement is expected next week. Unless there is a last-minute change, the public will hear from him very soon,” the source said.
Adeoti resigned his membership of the Omoluabi Progressive, led by former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, in November 2025, a development seen as a decisive step in his political recalibration. He continues to enjoy strong grassroots support across Osun State.
Political analysts say his eventual alignment could alter calculations among parties preparing for the 2026 election, as realignments and political permutations continue to define the state’s electoral contest.
Efforts to obtain direct confirmation from Adeoti’s media aides were unsuccessful as of press time.
