The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has constituted a 50-member Wise Men and Women Policy and Manifesto Committee as part of efforts to develop a credible, people-focused and forward-looking governance blueprint for Nigeria.
The committee was approved by the National Chairman of the party, Senator David A. B. Mark, GCON, following the endorsement of the National Working Committee (NWC).
According to the party, the committee is made up of distinguished Nigerians drawn from diverse sectors, including former public office holders, academics, technocrats, policy experts, civil society leaders and professionals, whose collective experience spans governance, economic management, social development, security and democratic reform.
Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, will serve as Chairman of the committee, while renowned economist and public intellectual, Professor Pat Utomi, will act as Deputy Chairman. Salihu Lukman has been named Secretary.
The ADC said the committee has been mandated to articulate a clear, coherent and credible policy direction that reflects the aspirations of Nigerians and positions the party as a serious alternative platform for responsible leadership and national renewal.
The party further announced that the formal inauguration of the committee will take place on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 12 noon, at the Conference Hall of the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja.
Reaffirming its belief that Nigeria’s challenges require ideas anchored on competence, integrity and national consensus, the ADC expressed confidence that the committee will deliver a manifesto that addresses the real needs of Nigerians.
All concerned members and stakeholders have been urged to take note.
The announcement was signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.
