Chukwueze’s Henry-esque strike earns plaudits as Fulham edge Brighton

Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson has showered praise on Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze following his decisive display in Fulham’s 2–1 Premier League victory over Brighton at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Chukwueze, introduced from the bench, turned the game on its head with a moment of individual brilliance, latching onto a long pass from Joachim Andersen before calmly guiding the ball into the bottom corner.

Reacting to the goal on Sky Sports, Merson likened the finish to the trademark style of Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

“What a finish it is. Thierry Henry-style, but on his left-hand side. It’s a great ball to him. Brilliant,” the former England international said.

The goal proved crucial as Fulham secured maximum points, further underlining Chukwueze’s growing influence since his arrival at the club.

The Nigerian winger has now recorded three goals and four assists in ten Premier League appearances for Fulham, having joined the London side on loan from AC Milan last year.

His recent performances continue to draw admiration, reinforcing his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most exciting attacking talents in Europe.
