A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Engr. Ademola Adedapo, has called on party members in Iwo land to close ranks and mobilise massively ahead of the August 8, 2026 governorship election, describing the area as strategic to the party’s victory.
Adedapo made the call while addressing party stakeholders at a meeting held last week in Iwo, a video of which was obtained by Patriotic Insights News
He stressed that votes from Iwo remain crucial in counterbalancing the expected bloc votes from Ede North and Ede South, the hometown of the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke.
“Ede North and Ede South usually turn out massive votes,” he said. “It is the votes from Iwo that neutralise Ede. That is why it is important for us to work hard and ensure overwhelming support for the APC candidate in this election.”
The APC chieftain urged party members still aggrieved over the emergence of Mr. Bola Oyebamiji as the party’s governorship candidate to put aside their differences and prioritise the collective interest of the party.
“Our leaders have intervened. We must forget the past, move forward as one family and focus on winning this election for the APC,” Adedapo appealed.
He also charged members to take advantage of the ongoing APC membership e-registration exercise, noting that possession of a National Identification Number (NIN) is mandatory for registration.
“I appeal to all members to ensure they register. Without NIN, registration is not possible. Let us all comply and strengthen the party’s structure,” he added.
The APC is intensifying grassroots mobilisation across the state as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2026 governorship contest.
