Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has appointed Professor Alamu Oguntola of the Department of Mechanical Engineering as Acting Provost of its Postgraduate College.
The appointment, approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Clement Adebooye, took effect from Monday, January 5, 2026.
A statement issued on Friday by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, said the decision was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership and deepen academic excellence in the institution’s postgraduate programmes.
According to the statement, Professor Oguntola brings 26 years of experience in teaching, research and university administration to the role.
Professor Adebooye, while congratulating the new acting provost, described his academic pedigree, administrative competence and global research collaborations as critical assets to the growth and repositioning of the Postgraduate College.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed confidence that the appointment would further reinforce the college’s commitment to rigorous research, academic excellence and the training of highly skilled professionals capable of contributing to national and global development.
UNIOSUN also wished Professor Oguntola success in his new assignment.
