The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has inaugurated a committee to address the longstanding chieftaincy dispute in Ido town, Ido Local Government Area.
The decision follows claims to the Onido of Ido stool by three individuals — Benjamin Ademola Ishola Orobiyi, Tajudeen Akinola, and Muritala Babalola — a situation that has unsettled the community for several years.
Oba Ladoja, in a statement signed by his Media Aide, Adeola Oloko, urged all stakeholders to cooperate fully with the panel. He stressed that the committee’s primary objective is to resolve the crisis amicably.
“The panel’s mandate includes investigating both the immediate and underlying causes of the Onido stool dispute,” the statement said. “It will also make comprehensive recommendations to guide the Olubadan and his council in ending the 19-year-old conflict once and for all.”
Residents of Ido town have been watching developments closely, hoping for a peaceful resolution to the controversy that has affected the social cohesion of the area.
