PFN Urges Tinubu to Take Firm Action Against Terrorists

The President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Wale Oke, has called on President Bola Tinubu to intensify efforts against insecurity in the country, warning that bandits and terrorists must be tackled decisively, without exception.

Speaking with journalists on Sunday in Ibadan, Oke emphasized that insecurity, rather than corruption, is now Nigeria’s most critical challenge. He commended the United States for its support in counterterrorism operations, following claims by former US President Donald Trump that American forces recently carried out strikes against Islamic State terrorists in northwestern Nigeria.

Trump had announced on his Truth Social platform that the strikes targeted militants responsible for the killing of Christians in the region, vowing further action if attacks continued.

Oke said, “Don’t relent until Nigeria is fully secured. Spare no one. Allow no sacred cows. If you don’t bring insecurity down, it will bring this country down.” He added that terrorists claiming to be repentant were not a concern of the government, stating, “Governance is not a church service. Their duty is justice and security.”

The PFN president lauded Tinubu’s renewed momentum in addressing insecurity and collaborating with international partners. “This is not a submission of Nigeria’s sovereignty. It is cooperation to defeat criminals who have turned our country into a killing field. You are doing a good job,” he said.

He urged Nigerians to support the fight against violence, stressing that all perpetrators must face the full weight of the law, irrespective of religious affiliation. Oke also called for unity, prayer, and collective resolve to restore peace in the nation.
