Jandor lauds Tinubu over grassroots funding, briefs President on Lagos LG projects

Former Lagos State governorship candidate, Abdulazeez Adediran (Jandor), has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as bold economic policies that have improved access to funds at the local government level.

Adediran, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), spoke after meeting with the President at his Lagos residence during the Christmas holiday.

He said the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on governance and development, particularly the need for synergy between the Federal Government and sub-national authorities.

“I had the privilege of meeting with Mr President during his stay in Lagos, where we engaged in a very productive discussion on governance and development,” Adediran said.

According to him, he briefed the President on the performance of local government administrations in Lagos State, especially their achievements within the first 100 days in office.

“Having attended some of the 100-day anniversary programmes of our local governments, I reported to Mr President how councils in Lagos are deploying funds from the federation account to deliver tangible projects,” he said.

Adediran noted that several councils have successfully commissioned roads, health centres, customary courts and other infrastructure projects within a short period, attributing the progress to improved fiscal policies and accountability measures introduced by the Tinubu administration.

“I commended Mr President for implementing courageous economic reforms that have made more resources available to governments at the grassroots,” he added.

Jandor, who contested the Lagos governorship election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023 before defecting to the APC, recently announced his intention to run again in 2027.

He also expressed confidence that President Tinubu would secure a resounding victory in the 2027 presidential election, citing what he described as the growing acceptance of the President’s leadership across the country.
