ACF Slams Maiduguri Mosque Bombing, Mourns Victims

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has strongly condemned the suicide bomb attack on a mosque in Maiduguri, Borno State, which occurred on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, leaving many worshippers dead and several others injured.

In a statement issued on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Prof. T. A. Muhammad-Baba, the ACF described the attack as barbaric and heartbreaking, saying it once again highlights the persistent threat of terrorism and insecurity in parts of the country.

“We mourn the dead and pray for the peaceful repose of their souls,” the statement said. “We commiserate with those who sustained injuries and wish them a speedy recovery.”

The forum extended its condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of Borno State and Nigerians at large, noting that the incident is a grim reminder that terrorism remains a major national challenge.

According to the ACF, the continued loss of innocent lives, especially in places of worship, underscores the urgency for renewed and decisive action against those it described as merchants of terror.

“The fight against insecurity must be pursued with all the vigour, commitment and seriousness that the challenge demands,” the statement added, urging relevant authorities to intensify efforts to end the scourge of terrorism across the country.

The forum also appealed for unity and resilience among Nigerians, stressing that acts of terror must not be allowed to undermine national cohesion or the collective resolve to achieve lasting peace and security.
