Osun ADC Guber Candidate Vows Civility, Omoluabi Values Ahead of 2026 Polls
As the 2026 Osun State governorship election draws closer, Dr. Najeem Folasayo Salaam, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, has called on his supporters to uphold civility and the traditional Omoluabi values that define the people of Osun.
In a statement released on Wednesday and made available to Patriotic Insights News, Dr. Salaam expressed deep appreciation for members of the Omoluabi Movement for their growing support across the state and among the diaspora. He specifically commended those mobilising and projecting the campaign’s message across social media platforms such as Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and WhatsApp.
“The energy, dedication, and commitment of our supporters are vital to the growth and momentum of our movement,” Dr. Salaam said, noting that politics should be a contest of ideas, not a battleground of insults.
He urged supporters to refrain from abusive or demeaning exchanges with political opponents, insisting that it is possible to prosecute a passionate campaign without resorting to personal attacks.
“We can offer constructive criticism without demeaning others. We can win arguments, persuade minds, and mobilise for change without damaging the bonds that unite us as a people,” he stated.
Dr. Salaam emphasized that all political actors in Osun are indigenes of the same land, bound by a shared heritage, common challenges, and collective aspirations. He called on citizens to practice politics with maturity and pride, suggesting that Osun has an opportunity to model a new kind of leadership anchored on respect, unity, and purpose.
Reaffirming confidence in his supporters, Dr. Salaam said the campaign aims to change the political narrative in the state without compromising its core values.
“Let us engage in politics, but above all, let us remain Omoluabi,” he concluded.
