President Bola Tinubu on Friday evening held separate closed-door meetings with the governors of Benue, Kaduna, and Cross River states at the Presidential Villa, as the federal government continues to confront mounting security and governance challenges across the country.

Governors Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Uba Sani (Kaduna), and Bassey Otu (Cross River) arrived individually at the State House before proceeding to the President’s office for the strategic engagements.

Although the Presidency did not disclose details of the discussions, sources familiar with the meetings revealed that security issues dominated the agenda. Matters reportedly discussed included communal clashes, banditry, and rising economic pressures affecting the three states.

Journalists were not briefed after the sessions. The governors exchanged only brief greetings before leaving the venue for their official vehicles. As of press time, no formal statement had been issued on the outcome of the meetings.

The discussions come amid growing national concern over insecurity, with analysts warning that the situation requires urgent and coordinated responses at both federal and state levels.
