The Osun State chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has temporarily suspended its ongoing strike to allow Judicial Service Commission (JSC) staff to attend a scheduled meeting with commission officials.
In a statement signed on Wednesday by its chairman, Comrade Idris Adedayo Adeniran, the temporary suspension, which runs from December 11 to 24, 2025, is subject to approval by the union’s Congress and national leadership.
The statement disclosed that the meeting, set for December 11 at the High Court of Justice Conference Room in Osogbo, will address JUSUN’s demands regarding staff promotion and welfare.
JUSUN confirmed that the Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Adepele Bola Ojo, has agreed to reconvene discussions with the JSC to consider issues raised by the union.
“The JSC, as the body responsible for justice administration in the state, is expected to take our concerns seriously and respond appropriately. We appreciate the Chief Judge’s commitment to engaging with the JSC and look forward to a positive outcome,” the union stated.
While acknowledging the temporary suspension, JUSUN stressed that its demands remain legitimate, reasonable, and long overdue. The union added that members would continue to pursue resolution of these issues.
The chairman also thanked members for their “unwavering support, trust, and loyalty” throughout the industrial action.
It will be recalled that Osun JUSUN began the strike on September 22, 2025, following disagreements with the Osun State Chief Judge.
