Otti Reaffirms Pledge to Prioritise Abians’ Welfare

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has restated his unwavering commitment to delivering quality governance to the people of the state.

The governor gave the assurance when he hosted a delegation of Ndi-Imo residents in Abia, led by a commissioner in the state’s Local Government Service Commission, Dr. Godwin Chinedu Duru, at Government House.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Njoku Ukoha Njoku, Otti said his administration would remain focused on fulfilling its campaign promises, expressing gratitude to the group for acknowledging the strides recorded so far in transforming Abia.

“I appreciate your kind words about the modest achievements we have made in changing the story of Aba and Abia generally,” Otti said.

On the group’s request to fix a date for an event to honour him and his wife, the governor assured that his team would liaise with them to choose a suitable date.

Earlier, Dr. Duru said the visit was to thank the governor for the improvements in infrastructure and economic activities, particularly in Aba, which he noted had boosted businesses, livelihoods and connectivity in Aba and Umuahia.

Also speaking, Chairman of the Imo Cultural Association, Okenze James Odocha, hailed Otti for surpassing expectations, adding that the administration’s achievements within a short period reflected clear preparedness for leadership.

He noted that the governor had “redefined governance” with impactful reforms across sectors, especially in healthcare where Abia is fast becoming a hub for medical services.

Odocha also commended the ongoing expansion of the Owerrinta–Umuikaa Road and the Abia Tower of Peace–Onuimo corridor, describing the projects as significant infrastructural markers of the administration.
