The Accord Party has cleared Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke to contest its governorship primary scheduled for today in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
Governor Adeleke, who currently serves as Osun State governor, received the party’s nod after successfully meeting all the requirements set by the party’s screening committee.
Elder Ibe Thankgod, National Organising Secretary of Accord and chairman of the screening committee, said the governor was cleared as the sole aspirant for the party’s governorship ticket. He added that all necessary documentation with relevant authorities had been duly completed.
Presenting a certificate of clearance to Adeleke, Elder Thankgod described him as a “worthy gubernatorial aspirant” of the party.
Responding, Governor Adeleke expressed gratitude to the committee and the party leadership, pledging his commitment to lead Accord to victory in the 2026 elections. “I am ready for the primary and I am ready for the general elections. We are winning by God’s grace,” he said.
Other members of the screening panel included Abdurahaman Muhammed, Abdulahi Sani Muhammed, and Mrs Awogbade Rachael.
