Obidient Movement Blasts Tinubu’s Ambassadorial List, Calls for Senate Scrutiny

Nana Kazaure, Head of Media and Strategic Communications of the Obidient Movement, has condemned some nominees on President Bola Tinubu’s proposed ambassadorial list, saying several individuals should face prosecution rather than diplomatic appointments.

Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Friday, Kazaure raised concerns over nominees with ongoing corruption cases and those who have previously insulted the President.

“Plainly speaking, many of the people on that list raise serious concerns. Some have cases with the EFCC that are yet to be concluded, yet they are being rewarded with ambassadorial postings. That is an indictment on our institutions,” she said.

Kazaure also questioned the sidelining of career diplomats. “We have career diplomats at the peak of their careers being overlooked. The public deserves answers. How are people who have previously called the President a drug dealer now being rewarded with ambassadorships?”

She urged the Senate to examine the list closely, stressing that the move has attracted both local and international criticism.

“The list has raised serious issues. Nigerians need clarity, and I hope the Senate will take a close look,” she added.
