BREAKING: NAF Alpha Jet Crashes in Niger, Pilots Eject to Safety

A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet on an operational mission reportedly crashed on Saturday evening near Karabonde in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.

Local sources said the aircraft went down shortly after 6 p.m., but both pilots onboard survived after successfully ejecting before the jet crashed.

The incident was first reported by Lapai TV, a Niger State–based digital broadcaster, which released a brief video showing residents at the scene of the crash.

According to the platform, “Two Nigerian Air Force pilots reportedly survived an Alpha Jet crash close to Karabonde, Borgu LGA of Niger State,” adding that the pilots were sighted receiving assistance from locals moments after ejecting.

As of press time, the Nigerian military had yet to issue an official statement regarding the cause of the crash or the condition of the pilots.
