Trump Targets Terror Backers, Bashir Ahmad Applauds US Visa Crackdown

Former presidential media aide, Bashir Ahmad, has applauded the decision of the United States government to impose visa restrictions on individuals linked to terrorism financing and religious-rights violations.

US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, on Wednesday announced fresh measures aimed at curbing global terrorism networks, stating that Washington would deny entry to anyone who “knowingly directs, authorizes, funds, supports, or carries out violations of religious freedom.”

The announcement has drawn reactions across Nigeria, particularly from groups alleging rising persecution and deepening insecurity.

Ahmad, reacting on his official X handle Wednesday night, described the policy as a step in the right direction. He insisted that anyone contributing to Nigeria’s instability—regardless of religion or location—should face consequences.

“This is a welcome development,” he wrote. “All individuals, whether in Nigeria or abroad, who are causing trouble, fueling destruction or contributing to the killings in our country should be banned. Ban them all.”

He stressed that violence affects citizens across religious lines.
“They are also killing my fellow Muslims, not only your Christian brothers and sisters. If they undermine our peace and stability, they should be deprived of the privilege of ever setting foot in the United States again,” he added.
