On Wednesday, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) dismissed circulating videos and social media claims that the party had endorsed a candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
In a statement, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, urged members and the public to disregard such reports, describing them as false.
He reminded all aspirants of the party’s timetable for conducting primaries to select its governorship flagbearer, which has been released and widely publicised. Abdullahi emphasized that all candidates are expected to comply strictly with the guidelines.
“The ADC remains committed to the highest standards of internal democracy, anchored on a free, fair and transparent electoral process,” he said.
The statement comes amid growing speculation on social media about potential frontrunners in the Osun governorship race, with political watchers urging parties to maintain transparency to avoid internal crises.
