The Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and Member representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Hon. Oluwole Oke, has expressed profound grief over the passing of the Owa of Igbajo and former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Oba Gboyega Phillip Famodun.
In a condolence message, Hon. Oke described the late monarch as a distinguished leader whose contributions to politics, traditional institutions, and community development would leave an enduring legacy. He noted that Oba Famodun had served Osun State with dedication, both as a revered royal father and as a committed party administrator.
“The death of Oba Gboyega Famodun is a great loss not only to the people of Igbajo but to Osun State and Nigeria at large,” Hon. Oke said. “He was a bridge-builder, a courageous leader, and a man who believed deeply in justice, progress, and the welfare of his people. His contributions to the growth of Osun APC and his service to the nation will continue to speak for him.”
Hon. Oke extended heartfelt sympathy to the Osun APC family, the people of Igbajo, and the entire Famodun family, praying for strength and comfort during this difficult period. He also prayed that God would grant the late monarch eternal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Oba Gboyega Phillip Famodun’s death marks the end of an era in Igbajo, where he was widely respected for his leadership, wisdom, and dedication to community development.
