The National Working Committee (NWC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has ratified the expulsion of Hon. Leke Abejide, endorsing the earlier decision taken by the Kogi State Executive Committee.
In a statement issued after its meeting on Thursday at the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja, the ADC described Abejide’s removal as a necessary step to safeguard the party’s values.
Quoting the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the statement said: “The NWC has upheld the expulsion of Hon. Leke Abejide for various acts of indiscipline. The ADC will not tolerate conduct that undermines the discipline, character and integrity upon which this party is built.”
The NWC also directed the state leadership to begin the process of filling vacant positions at the ward, local government and state levels in line with the approved transition guidelines. According to Abdullahi, “The guidelines remain in force, and the timeline for the congresses will be announced in due course.”
