Osun 2026: ADC Fixes December 10 for Governorship Primary, Sets Nomination Fee at N30m
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released its timetable and guidelines for the Osun State governorship primary, scheduled for December 10.
In a statement by its National Organising Secretary, Prince Chinedu Idigo, the party said aspirants are to obtain the Governorship Expression of Interest Form for N5 million, while the Nomination Form attracts a non-refundable fee of N25 million.
Female aspirants, however, are exempted from payment.
According to the guidelines, the sale of forms will commence on Wednesday, November 12, and close on Monday, December 1, 2025.
Idigo said aspirants must be registered members of the party for at least two years with fully paid dues.
New members seeking to contest must pay four years of membership dues totalling N48,000 before obtaining a membership card.
Forms will be sold at the ADC National Secretariat and will only be issued upon presentation of proof of payment for membership dues, Expression of Interest, and Nomination fees.
Aspirants are required to submit original tax clearance certificates, academic credentials, National Identity Number (NIN) or Certificate of State of Origin, voter’s card, ADC membership card, payment receipts for forms, and two recent passport photographs.
Screening is slated for Wednesday, December 3, at the party’s national secretariat.
The party also outlined the composition of delegates for the state congress in line with Article 16(11) of its constitution. The congress will include the State Executive Committee recognised by INEC, National Executive Committee members from Osun, five delegates per local government (at least two women), and one delegate from each of the 323 wards.
Delegates are to purchase their forms for N5,000 between December 4 and 5, with the delegate election holding on December 6.
The ADC reiterated its commitment to a transparent process, promising a free, fair, and credible indirect primary to elect its flag bearer on December 10.
