Adeleke Unveils Osun Security Trust Fund, Pledges Transparent, Sustainable Safety Framework

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Tuesday launched the Osun State Security Trust Fund, reaffirming his administration’s resolve to strengthen security architecture and promote sustainable peace across the state.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at the Government House Banquet Hall, Osogbo, the governor described the initiative as “a strategic step towards sustainable security financing”, noting that effective security is the foundation of development and prosperity.

“From the first day we assumed office, we made it clear that the security and well-being of our people would remain our top priority,” Adeleke said. “This Fund will help us strengthen operational capacity, improve response time, and provide modern equipment and logistics for our security agencies.”

The governor explained that the Security Trust Fund—established by law and backed by the Osun State House of Assembly—was designed to ensure a continuous flow of resources to support security operations and enhance coordination among agencies.

Adeleke commended members of the newly inaugurated Security Trust Fund Board, describing their appointment as “a national call to service”, and urged them to demonstrate transparency, integrity, and accountability in the management of public and private contributions.

“The people of Osun must see this Fund as a beacon of trust, not just in name but in practice,” he stressed.

The governor also called on the private sector, development partners, and well-meaning individuals to support the initiative, insisting that ensuring peace and safety remains a collective responsibility.

Reassuring citizens of prudent financial management, Adeleke vowed that all funds contributed would be properly accounted for and subjected to strict oversight.

“Our goal is to make Osun the safest, most peaceful, and most business-friendly state in Nigeria,” he added.

The event was attended by top government officials, security chiefs, traditional rulers, and representatives of the business community.
