Osun APC Blasts Adeleke Over ₦1 Trillion Revenue, Calls Out ‘Neglect’ of Education

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of mismanaging nearly ₦1 trillion in state revenue collected between November 2022 and September 2025, describing his administration as “fascist” and “unresponsive” to the plight of ordinary citizens.

According to figures released by the party, the Adeleke government received N25 billion in the final two months of 2022; N182 billion in 2023; N333 billion in 2024; and N310 billion from January to September 2025. APC claims that despite the massive inflow, there is little evidence of impactful projects or improvements in key sectors such as education and agriculture.

“The revenue figures are staggering. Yet, Osun citizens are gasping for survival under an economic policy that prioritises the interests of a few privileged individuals,” APC said in a statement signed by its state chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal.

The party highlighted the ongoing protests by students at the Osun State University, Ilesa (UNILESA), over exorbitant school and accommodation fees, describing the charges of N800,000 to N1.5 million per session as “satanic and arbitrary.” APC also noted similar complaints from students at Osun State University, Osogbo (UNIOSUN), where fees, combined with accommodation costs reaching N1 million, have placed undue financial strain on students and their families.

APC criticized Governor Adeleke for allegedly neglecting his duties, pointing to his weekend appearance at a music concert in Ibadan, where he was reportedly “dancing like an untamed video vixen,” while urgent state matters remain unaddressed.

The party further accused the government of gross underfunding critical sectors, citing budget implementation reports showing that only 29 per cent of capital projects for education and 9 per cent for agriculture were disbursed as of September 2025. Overall, capital expenditure accounted for just 26 per cent of total revenue. APC also noted that no funds have been released to settle ₦6 billion in gratuity arrears due this year.

“It is incongruous for a governor who brands himself as ‘Mr Project’ to spend barely a quarter of the state’s revenue on capital projects, while the rest appears to service the appetite of unproductive associates,” APC said.

The opposition party is now calling on Governor Adeleke to provide a full accounting of the state’s revenue and expenditures, stressing that the citizens deserve transparency and responsible leadership.
