Osun NOA Urges Residents to Prioritise Immunisation for Healthier Communities

The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Osun State Directorate, has appealed to residents to embrace immunisation as an essential measure for preventing communicable diseases and safeguarding public health.

The Director of NOA in the state, Mr. Adebiyi Adefarasin, made the appeal in a statement signed by the agency’s Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Bunmi Olaseinde, to commemorate this year’s World Immunisation Day, scheduled for November 10.

Adefarasin emphasised that the theme for this year’s celebration, “Vaccine for All: Protecting Our Future Together,” reinforces the importance of making vaccines accessible to everyone as a collective shield against preventable diseases such as measles, polio, tetanus and influenza.

He urged parents and guardians to ensure their children and wards receive all routine immunisations, while encouraging adults to stay updated on vaccines like Hepatitis B and COVID-19.

The NOA director also called on community leaders and stakeholders to support public health campaigns and help dispel myths and misinformation surrounding vaccines.

According to him, “Immunisation remains one of the most effective and affordable ways to protect individuals and communities from deadly but preventable diseases. Everyone has a role to play in ensuring no one is left behind.”
