BREAKING: Crisis Deepens at PDP Secretariat as Supporters of Abdulrahman Storm Abuja HQ

Tension gripped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretariat at Wadata Plaza, Abuja, yesterday as supporters of the faction loyal to the party’s National Vice Chairman (North Central), Mohammed Abdulrahman, staged a protest.
The demonstrators, chanting solidarity songs, demanded the immediate vacating of the secretariat by the National Working Committee (NWC) led by Umar Damagum.
Abdulrahman was recently appointed Acting National Chairman of the party amid a deepening leadership crisis, which escalated following the suspension of the party’s National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade, for one month.
In a parallel development, supporters of the Anyanwu-led faction gathered at a separate venue in Abuja, where they announced the suspension of the Damagum-led NWC.
The protesters accused the current leadership of mismanaging party affairs and vowed to reclaim control of the secretariat for the Abdulrahman-led faction. Security operatives were deployed to the area to prevent a breakdown of law and order as both factions jostled for control.
The crisis underscores the fragility within the PDP as internal power struggles continue to dominate headlines.
