Osun PDP Dismisses APC Claims, Vows Strong 2026 Campaign

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has described recent comments by the All Progressives Congress (APC) as “comic relief” and a distraction from the opposition party’s internal challenges.

In a statement signed by the party’s Director of Media and Publicity, Hezekiak Bamiji Oladele Hob, the PDP said the APC is struggling with disunity, leadership collapse, and lack of a coherent strategy ahead of the 2026 elections.

“The PDP in Osun State remains united, solid, and focused on delivering the dividends of democracy under the purposeful leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke,” the statement read. “No amount of falsehood or mischievous propaganda from a frustrated opposition can shake that foundation.”

The party accused the APC of relying on prayers for Governor Adeleke’s disqualification as its only strategy for 2026. “Such barren prayers have long been rejected by both God and the good people of Osun State,” the PDP said.

It further challenged the APC to address its internal challenges before criticizing the PDP. According to the party, the APC’s failures at the national and state levels reflect poor governance and disorganization.

Governor Adeleke’s nomination process, the PDP said, is in accordance with the law and enjoys widespread popular support. “Nothing untoward will happen, and no amount of social media restlessness or wishful thinking can change that fact,” the party added.

The PDP concluded by reaffirming its commitment to sustaining the ongoing transformation in Osun State, warning against any attempt to return the state to what it described as “an era of deceit and oppression under the APC.”
