AAC’s Ifemeludike: I’ve Been Part of Governance Long Before Now

The African Action Congress (AAC) candidate in the forthcoming November 8 governorship election in Anambra State, Ms. Chioma Ifemeludike, has said her aspiration to lead the state is a continuation of her long-standing involvement in governance and politics.

Ifemeludike, who spoke on Friday as a guest on Prime Time, an Arise Television programme monitored by Patriotic Insights News, said her decision to contest should not be seen as a transition but as a natural progression of her political journey.

“I won’t necessarily call my decision to run for the governorship a transition because I have always been in the corridors of governance and politics,” she said.

The AAC candidate explained that her passion for leadership and advocacy began during her university days as a student unionist.

“This is not just because I studied political science, but because I was also a student unionist. I chose to become one to speak for students who didn’t have a voice,” she stated.

Ifemeludike added that her involvement in politics has always been driven by a sense of responsibility for others, noting that the AAC’s emergence as a viable alternative motivated her to seek the governorship.

“At this stage in my life, and with the AAC positioning itself as the only credible alternative for the people, it became imperative for me to step forward and offer myself to serve as the number one citizen of Anambra State,” she said.
