The Bukola Saraki Strategy Team (BSST) Osun State chapter has berated the “unity walk” reportedly staged in Osogbo in support of the AMBO tendency within the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the outing as “a show of shame” and “proof of desperation” within the opposition camp.
The group, in a statement issued on Wednesday in Osogbo and signed by the chairman of its media team, Comrade Michael Adebayo, said the rally further exposed “the internal crisis and credibility deficit” trailing the party ahead of the 2026 governorship contest.
BSST accused key aspirants in the opposition party — including Senator Iyiola Omisore, former Commissioner for Finance, Bola Oyebamiji, and the party’s National Secretary, Dr. Ajibola Bashiru — of “seeking to exploit the peace in Osun for personal political bargaining”.
The statement contained blistering language against the APC. It quoted Adebayo as saying the party “was like a used condom, devoid of value,” adding that the APC “should be discarded” by Osun voters in the coming election.
BSST warned residents of the state to be wary of what it called “political merchants” allegedly preparing to return the state to what it described as “the dark days of unpaid salaries, hardship and avoidable deaths” during the party’s 12-year rule.
By contrast, the group held up the current administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke as “a beacon of hope performing beyond human expectations,” urging residents to “stand firm and defend the gains made”.
“Let us not forget the pains inflicted upon us by the APC; let us reject their attempts to reclaim power and instead build on the progress recorded,” the statement concluded.
It then called on voters to reject any APC flagbearer in the forthcoming poll and back Adeleke’s continuity.
