Osun APC alerts public to alleged PDP-sponsored fake statements ahead of 2026 poll

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has cautioned members of the public, journalists, supporters and party faithful to be vigilant and disregard what it described as fabricated statements being circulated in the name of the opposition.

The party alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, working with aides of Governor Ademola Adeleke, has devised a new tactic of releasing fictitious commentaries and concocted stories in order to create friction within the APC as the 2026 governorship election draws near.

In a statement by its Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, the APC said newsmen should verify the source of claims being credited to the party or to its aspirants, insisting that a “network of hatchet writers” has been planted to confuse the public and destabilise the opposition.

Olabisi accused the governing party of using pseudo group names to publish “satanic narratives” and spam the public space with what he called “beer-parlour compositions” packaged to ignite disunity within the APC.

According to him, “The PDP has reached a dead end and now seeks to distract the public with fiction, false alarm and orchestrated propaganda ahead of its anticipated defeat.”

He further urged residents of the state to discountenance what he described as “manufactured stories” allegedly emanating from the ruling party, saying the people have become more discerning and no longer fall for what he termed the “intrigues” of the PDP’s media handlers.

The APC vowed to intensify mobilisation towards what it described as the “collective project” of unseating Governor Adeleke in the 2026 governorship election.

“We shall not relent in ensuring that the will of the people prevails at the polls,” the statement added.
