Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has commended the peace initiatives in the state, describing them as gradually yielding tangible results.

In a statement issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, the governor emphasized that genuine development can only thrive in an atmosphere of unity and stability.

Governor Fubara made the remarks during a civic reception held in honour of his Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Odu, at Government Secondary School, Akabuka community, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area.

He urged residents to embrace peace fully to enable development projects to flourish. According to him, growing signs of reconciliation across the state are encouraging.

“We cannot develop in an environment of chaos. No meaningful project can succeed in Akabuka if there is unrest,” he said. “Our commitment has always been to maintain peace because it is the only pathway to progress.”
