Osun PDP taunts APC over leaked list, boasts of 2026/27 victory

The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday welcomed the leaked consensus list of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as evidence of “internal confusion” within an opposition it said has lost contact with the electorate.

In a statement signed by its chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, the ruling party mocked the APC’s alleged consensus exercise, saying it reflects “imposition politics and desperation” at a time Osun people have already moved on under the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The party maintained that the 2026/2027 elections would not be determined by what it termed “the usual noise and propaganda” but by performance and public confidence.

“Osun people know the difference between hardship and hope. They tested both parties and they are standing with the PDP — the party that restored dignity and direction to governance through IMOLE,” the PDP said.

It claimed that its strength ahead of the poll is not just numerical but “emotional”, rooted in the trust of citizens across professional and social groups. It pointed to reported endorsements for Governor Adeleke from workers, pensioners, students, artisans, unions and community blocs.

According to the statement, Adeleke’s government has restored regular payment of salaries and pensions, returned respect to the civil service and improved planning confidence for households.

The PDP dismissed the APC’s list as “a recycled arrangement of tired actors,” adding that Osun voters “have not forgotten the years of deception.”

“Come 2026/2027, the PDP will win again — not because of politics, but because performance has spoken and the people have resolved that Osun will not return to waste and sorrow,” the statement concluded.
