BREAKING: Court Grants Bail To Sowore, ‘Free Nnamdi Kanu’ Protesters In Abuja

A Magistrate Court sitting in Kuje, Abuja, on Friday granted bail to rights activist and SaharaReporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, alongside several protesters arrested during a “Free Nnamdi Kanu” demonstration.

The court ordered their release under conditions that include a three-year clearance with an international passport, updated National Identification Number (NIN) and a bail bond of ₦500,000.

Sowore was reportedly picked up on Thursday on the premises of the Federal High Court, Abuja, by police operatives while he was attending the ongoing trial of detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

Sowore, a consistent critic of successive governments and a frontline figure in pro-democracy agitation for more than three decades, had led similar street actions before his arrest.

The case continues.
