Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State have unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to seek a second term in office ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was made at the APC Stakeholders Forum 2025 held at Victoria Island, where party leaders and members gathered to review achievements and reaffirm their support for the president.

The event was attended by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, former governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa, members of the APC National and State Working Committees, lawmakers, political appointees, local government chairmen, and traditional and community leaders.

The motion to endorse Tinubu for a second term was moved by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, and seconded by Speaker Obasa, both citing the president’s performance in the last two years as justification.

Oba Shotobi said, “We endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to go for the second term.” Obasa added that the endorsement reflected the collective decision of Lagos residents.

Governor Sanwo-Olu described the resolution as a “unanimous expression of confidence” in Tinubu’s leadership and a recognition of his impact since assuming office in 2023.

Deputy Governor Hamzat urged party members to continue supporting the president, noting that ongoing reforms were restoring public confidence and driving economic recovery.

Former Governor Fashola, who delivered a lecture titled “Voter Apathy and the Sanctity of Election in Nigeria’s Budding Democracy”, called on APC members to engage more with voters, especially the youth, to ensure high turnout in 2027.

Other speakers, including members of the Federal Executive Council and the National Assembly, highlighted achievements across sectors under Tinubu’s administration.
