Adeleke Rules Out APC Defection, Reaffirms Loyalty to PDP

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has dismissed speculation that he plans to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting he remains committed to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking to journalists after the inaugural meeting of the Accommodation Sub-Committee ahead of the PDP national convention at Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja, Adeleke described the ongoing crisis in the party as an internal affair.

“We are meeting and resolving our issues internally. It is a family affair. We do not want anyone outside to add sugar, pepper, or salt to the matter. The PDP is a family, and we know how to manage our affairs,” he said.

The governor added that the sub-committee meeting, which he chaired, had successfully addressed all issues to ensure a smooth convention.

Commenting on recent defections, Adeleke said he was unbothered, emphasizing that individuals have the right to make their own choices, but this would not weaken the PDP.

“I have friends in the APC, and I may attend social functions if invited, but that does not mean I am joining them. I am the Deputy Chairman of our convention and chair the Accommodation Committee. I remain a loyal member of the PDP,” Adeleke said.

He reassured party supporters that the PDP remains strong and committed to unity and growth. “Our focus is on organisation and success. By God’s grace, our convention will be a great success, and the PDP will continue to grow from strength to strength,” he added.
