Ex-Reps Aspirant dumps YPP Pitches Tent with APGA – Cites Soludo’s Performance

Ex-Reps aspirant dumps YPP, pitches tent with APGA — cites Soludo’s performance

A former House of Representatives hopeful, Stanley Okeke, has defected from the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State.

Okeke, popularly known as Ugbo, announced his defection in a statement on Friday. He said he was convinced to join the ruling party in the state due to what he described as the “visible strides” of Governor Charles Soludo in security and infrastructure.

“The governor has also decisively reduced insecurity in Anambra, making it possible for people to return safely to their communities,” he stated.

He added that the massive infrastructural projects initiated by the Soludo administration are gradually making the state the “destination hub” envisioned in 2021.

Okeke dismissed suggestions that he joined APGA to position himself ahead of the 2027 general election.

“My focus now is to ensure that the governor is voted for massively across my constituency and beyond. That is my motivation for now. The 2027 general election is still far off,” he said.

He maintained that what matters most at the moment is delivering a second term for Soludo.
