Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Senator Hope Uzodimma, has applauded Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, for his decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the move as a courageous step that will deepen national integration and strengthen the ruling party’s reform agenda.
Speaking at the official defection ceremony in Enugu, attended by top political figures across the country, Uzodimma hailed Mbah’s choice as a demonstration of political maturity and foresight, noting that it signals growing confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership and development drive.
“We from the South-East are happy with this decision,” Uzodimma stated. “It reinforces our collective determination to play a stronger role in national politics and benefit more from the progressive governance model being championed by the APC.”
He further commended Vice President Kashim Shettima, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the event, for his steadfast commitment to the administration’s development goals and support for political inclusiveness across all regions.
Uzodimma expressed optimism that Mbah’s defection would inspire more leaders from the South-East to embrace the party’s ideals, fostering greater collaboration toward a united and prosperous Nigeria.
