The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has paid glowing tribute to the late Founder and President of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA), Rev. Dr Uma Ukpai, describing him as a pillar of unshakable faith whose ministry touched countless lives across the world.

In a condolence message issued in Abuja on Tuesday, Umahi said he received with deep sorrow the news of the revered cleric’s passing on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80.

He described the late Ukpai as a renowned preacher and teacher of the gospel whose powerful sermons and evangelistic outreach shaped the spiritual growth of many Christians globally.

“Rev. Dr Uma Ukpai was a man of unwavering faith who dedicated his entire life to the propagation of the gospel of Christ. His legacy of devotion, humility, and service will remain a beacon for generations of believers,” Umahi said.

The minister noted that the late evangelist served God diligently until his final day on earth, when he was called to eternal rest in the presence of his Creator.

“With the Christian faithful around the world, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the entire body of Christ. May the Almighty grant his soul eternal rest and comfort the family he left behind,” he added.

Umahi also conveyed his sympathies on behalf of his family, the management, and staff of the Federal Ministry of Works, praying that God grants the Ukpai family the strength to bear the loss.
