The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned Governor Ademola Adeleke’s condolence visit to Akinlalu, describing it as “belated, deceitful, and incomplete” unless the controversial Amotekun Corps commander, Mr. Isaac Adekunle Omoyele, is handed over to the police.

In a statement signed by Mogaji Kola Olabisi, Director of Media and Information for the Osun APC, the party accused Adeleke of failing to account for his recent secret trip abroad and alleged that his visit to Akinlalu, coming two weeks after the killing of five community members, was morally insufficient.

“The secret journey of Governor Adeleke not only undermined the confidence of over four million residents but also raises questions about his commitment to justice for the victims,” the statement said.

The APC demanded answers on why the governor appeared to be shielding Omoyele, who is alleged to be responsible for the killings carried out by Amotekun operatives. The party also criticized the governor for directing the Chairman of the Amotekun Board, AIG Wale Abass, to meet the Inspector-General of Police in Abuja rather than ensuring that Omoyele is immediately handed over to law enforcement.

“Why is Governor Adeleke afraid to produce the commander of Amotekun Corps, who is believed to be hiding in the State Government House? If there is nothing to hide, why the reluctance to allow the police proper access for investigation?” Olabisi asked.

The APC described the governor’s posture as “suspicious and unstatesmanlike,” adding that the people of Akinlalu deserve accountability and justice.
