Former lawmaker cites future political direction , Oyo PDP in silent shock as APC leaders intensify talk

 

The Oyo State political landscape witnessed a major shake-up today as a former Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Agboola Ayoola, popularly known as Alleluyah, officially announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

 

The former lawmaker, who represented Oyo North Senatorial District between 2011 and 2015, said his decision to quit the PDP was informed by “future political pursuits” and the need to align with a vision that truly represents progressive governance and service to the people.

 

In a letter dated Friday, October 10, 2025, and made available to journalists in Ibadan, Ayoola expressed appreciation to the PDP for providing him a platform to serve at various levels, including his tenure as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs under former governors Rashidi Ladoja and the late Adebayo Alao-Akala.

 

“I, Senator Agboola, a member and leader of the PDP at both state and national levels, appreciate the party for the opportunities afforded me to serve and for the achievements recorded therein,” he stated.

 

“However, you will observe that I did not participate in all the recent congresses  both local and state  due to future political pursuits which are necessary at this material time. Consequently, I hereby resign my membership from the PDP effective from October 10, 2025.”

Talks With APC Intensify

Findings by Patriotic Insights News revealed that Senator Ayoola has been in strategic consultations with key figures within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and at the national level.

Multiple sources within his political circle hinted that the former lawmaker is on the verge of announcing his next political platform  a move expected to tilt the balance of power in Oyo’s evolving political equation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
