Kwara Monarch Warns Against Politicising Insecurity in the State

The Oloro of Oro Kingdom in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Oba Joel Titiloye, has urged political leaders to desist from using the state’s lingering security challenges for political gain.

In a statement personally signed in Ilorin and made available to Patriotic Insights News, the traditional ruler expressed concern over the rising wave of insecurity affecting both the southern and northern parts of the state, stressing that the situation demands sober reflection and collective action.

Oba Titiloye lamented that some individuals appear more interested in exploiting the crisis for political mileage rather than working with government and security agencies to tackle the menace.

He commended the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration for its commitment to curbing criminal activities, including kidnappings, armed robberies, and other violent acts, noting that the state government continues to support security personnel on the frontline.

The Monarch further called on residents, particularly those in rural communities, to provide timely intelligence that could help dismantle criminal networks before attacks occur.

While sympathizing with victims and families affected by the recent security incidents, Oba Titiloye appealed to citizens to prioritize the interest of the state and the nation above ethnic, political, or personal considerations.
