Malami Convoy Attacked Again as Political Thuggery Rears Head in Kebbi

Former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, narrowly escaped an attack on Friday while leaving a wedding ceremony in Argungu. Reports say assailants, reportedly wearing APC jerseys and armed with weapons, targeted parts of his convoy and verbally abused his supporters. No injuries were recorded.

This is the second attack on Malami’s convoy in just one month, following a similar incident along Old NITEL Road, Birnin Kebbi, during a condolence visit. The repeated attacks have sparked alarm among political observers and social media users, highlighting the growing trend of violence in the state’s political landscape.

Political analysts warn that the escalating thuggery threatens Kebbi’s traditionally peaceful political culture, calling on security agencies to act decisively to prevent further incidents.

Authorities have been urged to investigate the attack promptly, secure political figures, and bring the culprits to justice to forestall any potential unrest.
