ADC Slams PDP, APC: Don’t Trade Osun Peace for Council Allocations

The Osun State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of turning local government allocations into a weapon of political warfare, warning that such reckless conduct could endanger the state’s fragile peace.

In a statement issued on Saturday and signed by its New Media Publicity Secretary, Akande Abimbola, the ADC berated both parties for what it described as “shameless politicisation of council funds,” stressing that the grassroots remain the biggest victims of the ongoing feud.

The opposition party drew attention to a leaked memo alleging that 15 per cent of Boluwaduro Local Government’s allocation was deducted under the APC-led council. It described the alleged cut as “grand corruption” that must be urgently investigated.

The ADC further called on anti-graft bodies, including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), to probe the matter without delay.

“Neither PDP nor APC must be allowed to destabilise the peace of Osun with their reckless games over LG administration. Local government allocations are the lifeline of the people, not party slush funds,” the statement read.
