Jandor Claims Experience Makes Him More Qualified Than Seyi Tinubu for Lagos Governorship
Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, the 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said he is more experienced and qualified than President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, to contest the 2027 Lagos governorship election.
Jandor made the remarks during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, when asked if he could stand a chance against Seyi Tinubu, former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Tokunbo Abiru, and other aspirants.
He acknowledged that Seyi and the other aspirants are qualified to run but stressed that his own experience gives him an edge. “All the names you mentioned, including Seyi, are qualified to be governor of Lagos. But aside from the former governor, none of them has actually contested an election as a governorship candidate except myself. I come with the experience of someone who has gone through that process independently, without any backing,” Jandor said.
The PDP chieftain’s comments come amid rising speculations over potential aspirants for Lagos State in the 2027 polls, with political watchers assessing the influence of established political families in the state.
