Primate Elijah Ayodele has cautioned President Bola Tinubu and the ruling establishment not to underestimate the growing strength of opposition forces in Lagos State, warning that their activities could reshape the state’s political landscape.
Speaking in a recent video on his official Facebook page, the cleric stressed that the opposition coalition, particularly the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its allies, should not be dismissed.
“Coalition or what have you, the opposition—don’t think they are not serious,” Ayodele said. “They are very, very serious and they are ready.”
He further warned that Lagos may face political instability if the readiness of the opposition is ignored. “They are ready to do and undo. That is why Lagos is shaking,” he added.
Ayodele’s comments come amid increased political maneuvering ahead of the 2027 general elections, as opposition groups strengthen alliances in key states.
