Osun Police Begin Crackdown on Vehicles Without Tinted Glass Permits

Osun State Police Command has commenced enforcement of the tinted glass permit across the state, following a directive from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.

The enforcement exercise, which began on Thursday, October 2, 2025, is part of a nationwide effort to regulate the use of tinted vehicle windows. Vehicle owners are urged to register or reactivate their tinted glass permits through the Police Specialized Services Automation Platform (POSSAP).

DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, Public Relations Officer of the Osun Police, said the move was in line with the IGP’s decision to reactivate the issuance and regulation of tinted glass permits nationwide. “Vehicle owners with tinted glasses are enjoined to register or reactivate their tinted vehicles through the POSSAP platform at possap.gov.ng,” he stated.

The police explained that applicants must log in to the POSSAP portal, create an account using a valid email and password, and follow the steps applicable to individuals, corporate bodies, or non-governmental organisations. Applicants must provide either their NIN or BVN for verification, and complete other mandatory fields.

Required documents include proof of vehicle ownership, vehicle registration licence, passport photograph, and supporting evidence justifying the need for tinted glass, such as medical reports or security clearance. Vehicles with factory-fitted tinted windows must also provide relevant documentation.

For enquiries, the public can contact the POSSAP Customer Support Team via the 24/7 helpline on 02018884040, or through social media platforms X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, or via email at info@possap.gov.ng.
