Edo NSCDC Commandant Dies Suddenly at Event in Benin City
The Commandant of the Edo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Gbenga Agun, collapsed and died on Thursday during an event in Benin City.
Reports indicate that Agun reportedly slumped shortly after delivering his keynote address at a programme organised by the International Association of World Peace Advocates. He was immediately rushed to the Military Hospital, Airport Road, Benin City, for medical attention but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Officials from the Edo NSCDC Command and the national headquarters of the agency have yet to issue a statement on the incident.
