Uba Sani Flags Off Long-Awaited Keke–Danbushiya Road in Kaduna

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, on Wednesday flagged off the construction of the 15-kilometre Keke–Danbushiya road in Chikun Local Government Area, a project set to link more than 15 communities in the Millennium City axis.

The project, described by residents as a decades-long demand, has reportedly been pending for over five decades.

Muktar Haruna, the village head of Danbushiya, said successive administrations had promised to construct the road but never delivered. He commended Governor Sani for fulfilling what he termed a “long-awaited dream.”

Haruna also highlighted other interventions by the state government, including a primary healthcare centre, schools, enhanced security, and a newly completed science secondary school. “We are grateful for the governor’s commitment to our community. We even propose renaming Millennium City to Governor Uba Sani Millennium City,” he added.

Governor Sani, during an inspection of the site, reiterated his administration’s commitment to equitable development across Kaduna. He assured residents that the road would be completed within nine months.

“When we assumed office, we pledged to take development to all parts of Kaduna. This road is crucial as it connects about 15 communities, and we are investing significant resources to construct a standard asphaltic road,” he said.

The governor also inspected the ongoing renovation of Ahmadu Bello Stadium, which is being upgraded to meet international sports standards, as well as the refurbishment of a primary healthcare centre at Mando in Igabi LGA.
