Tinubu: No Religion Is Under Siege in Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday dismissed claims of religious genocide in Nigeria, describing them as “unfounded” and reaffirming the country’s unity and resilience.

Speaking at the launch of a book by Governor Hope Uzodimma marking 10 years of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in power, Tinubu said Nigerians have long learned to embrace their cultural and religious diversity.

“Nigeria is a proud, sovereign nation. Here, no faith is under siege, no community is excluded,” he said. “Our churches, mosques, and traditional shrines stand side by side – not as rivals, but as symbols of our unity. We must never allow outsiders to divide us.”

The president also commissioned major projects in Imo State, including the Owerri-Mbaise-Umuahia road, Assumpta twin flyover, and the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu Convention Centre, showcasing the APC government’s investment in infrastructure.

Highlighting his party’s achievements, Tinubu added: “Under President Buhari, APC stabilised Nigeria. We invested in infrastructure, fought terrorism, and restored accountability. Were there mistakes? Yes. But the country’s course has changed for good.”

Governor Uzodimma praised federal support for state projects, noting that continuous funding has enabled Imo to deliver more infrastructure to its people.

The event drew top APC leaders, former Senate Presidents, traditional rulers, religious leaders, diplomats, and members of civil society.
