Supreme Court Ruling: Fubara Relieves Affected Cabinet Members
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has formally relieved all commissioners and public officers whose appointments were affected by a recent Supreme Court judgment, with immediate effect.
The development was disclosed on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, in a statement signed by Nelson Chukwudi, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
According to the statement, the action followed the apex court’s ruling, while Governor Fubara expressed appreciation for the contributions of the affected officials to the state’s growth and development over the past two years.
The announcement was made during a valedictory session held at the Government House, Port Harcourt, in conjunction with activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
Governor Fubara, addressing members of his cabinet, commended them for their dedication and service, noting that their efforts had positively impacted the state’s progress.
He further urged all Nigerians to cooperate with the Federal Government in promoting peace, security, and national development, emphasizing that unity and collective effort remain crucial for a brighter future.
