Barau Urges Nigerians to Stay United, Back Tinubu Amid Challenges

Senator Jibrin Barau, Deputy President of the Senate, has urged Nigerians to rise above the nation’s current economic and security challenges and to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

In a statement marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary, Barau commended the president’s efforts at economic reform and improving security, noting that the benefits of these policies are beginning to show. The statement was released on Tuesday by his Media Adviser, Ismail Mudashir.

“Fellow Nigerians, at 65, we face challenges, but we will overcome them. Our nation will emerge stronger, by God’s grace,” he said, while paying tribute to the country’s founding fathers, including Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Sir Ahmadu Bello, and Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa.

Barau called on citizens to recommit to the principles of national unity, peace, justice, and tolerance, and to support the president in actualising his policies under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He assured that the National Assembly would continue to provide legislative support to ensure the success of government programmes for the welfare of all Nigerians.
